Grande Aerial Video

49 Years ago on October 7, 1966 the Grande Ballroom re-opened as a rock venue.

In tribute to this historic building, we present an excerpt of the aerial survey video commissioned by the Friends of the Grande in August 2014. Perhaps fittingly, only silence serves as its underscore. The full 20 minute HD flight video will be released at a later date. Leo Early

Any hope of saving this incredible place? Does the church really own it? This is so sad.

Is it still standing? Made me sad to see that video, many great memories from that building! Such a great part of my youth, fab groups and music! This generation will never experience the caliber of bands in such a great setting like the grande! No way can you go to a venue and dance in front of a stage! My 26 yr old loved that I brought him to the Documentry At The DAI about the Grande. He wishes so much he could experience what we did!
Bring it back! Or will it remain a memory?
If it still stands I need to drive by and see it, need to remember where it is first!
    Regards,
    Rene

I do hope it can be preserved. I really care about old buildings and sharing the importance of their use. I hear they actually keep old buildings in Europe, those that have not been destroyed in bad events. Good luck on working to keep this place alive sometime.

  4. How can I help? Disgraceful to see such a historic building in such ruin!

i loved every second i spent there!! i wish it could be restored and appreciated by future generations. don’t believe it will have the same energy as big attractors might not perform but we should give it a chance.
